The Dawson Music Academy provides a Christian environment for students of all ages to learn about music and improve musical skills. Each year over 225 students enroll in the academy, which is open year round for music lessons and classes.  For more information or to register, email Layla Humphries or call her in the music office. Dawson Music Academy Is Growing

This spring, we have had over 255 students taking private music lessons with us.  With 25 gifted instructors, Dawson Music Academy continues to offer lessons in strings, guitar, voice, piano, woodwinds, brass, and percussion instruments in addition to Kindermusik classes.  Summer session began the week of June 13.  Registration is open year round.

DMA adds flute to our program

The Dawson Music Academy has recently added a wonderful flute instructor to our staff.  If you are interested in flute lessons, please contact the music office.  Registration is open year round.  In addition to flute lessons, we also offer lessons in most of the woodwind and brass instruments.  Strings, piano, guitar, and voice lessons are also available.

Dawson Music Academy
Youth String Orchestra

Conductor:  Amanda Igo

Rehearsals are in the Dawson Choir Room on Thursdays from 6:15-7:30 p.m.  Open to string players entering 4th -9th grade.  Fall Semester rehearsals will be in September, October, and November.  Spring Semester rehearsals will be in January, February, March, and April.  Two concerts per year:  November and April.  Email Layla if you are definitely interested. 

Amanda Igo, conductor, has a Bachelor of Music Education with a concentration in string orchestra from Columbus State University and a Master of Music Performance with a concentration in violin from Georgia State University.

Cost: $75/semester (No additional registration fee needed if enrolled in the dma.) Non-dma students must pay the $40 annual registration fee.
