New Orleans Seminary, Gentilly Baptist Church, and Dawson
Partnership Goals:
1) To partner with Gentilly Baptist Church and Staff in order to build a Sunday School Ministry reflective of Gentilly’s vision for a Sunday School Ministry.
2) To partner with Gentilly Baptist Church to reach people for Christ through the Sunday School Ministry.
3) To partner with Gentilly Baptist Church in providing any repair/renovation or construction needs to the church facility or for church members’ homes.

Gentilly Partnership Ministry Teams
• Gentilly Partnership Leadership Planning Team:
This team would consist of:
• Team Leader/Coordinator
• Prayer Leader
• Adult Leader
• Children Leader
This team will commit to work with Jan Jones, Ben Hale, and Jason Thomas to plan and implement a strategy for developing a Sunday School Ministry at Gentilly Baptist Church. The team will enlist additional volunteers (as needed).
• Gentilly Partnership Prayer Team
This team will commit to pray specifically for the Dawson/Gentilly partnership; praying for specific needs, volunteer teams, Gentilly’s congregation, and outreach events.
• “Adopt” a Gentilly Sunday School Class
Dawson Sunday School Classes will provide:
• Prayer support for Gentilly teachers and class members
• Teaching supplies/resources for class
• Room renovations (working with Construction Team)
• Physical/economical needs of class members
• Preschool Leader
• Events Coordinator
• Youth Leader (eventually)
• Construction Leader
Gentilly Partnership Mission Teams
1. Sunday School Leadership Development Teams
A Sunday School Training Team from Dawson of adult, children and preteen leaders that will equip Gentilly Baptist Church to enlist and train Sunday School leaders and workers. This Sunday School Training Team will set up a training schedule with Gentilly for regular “learning sessions” offering such topics as: Teacher Training (age group appropriate), Bible skills development, teaching methods, outreach and inreach organization, etc.
The schedule (dates) and training sessions are to be determined but would be on an on-going basis.
2. Leadership Training for Sunday School Kick-off
February 19-21, 2010
Dawson will partner with Gentilly Baptist Church to begin a Sunday School Ministry. This would be accomplished through working with Gentilly to enlist and train adult and children’s teachers. Enlistment will take place prior to the weekend training. Dawson will train teachers on Saturday morning and work with enlisted workers on Sunday morning.
Number of Individuals needed: approximately 10.
3. Middle School Choir Block Party/
and Adult Leadership Training
May 28-31, 2010
The Middle School Choir will conduct a Block Party on Saturday afternoon and present a concert on Sunday morning. Volunteers are needed to help with the Block Party. Additional volunteers are needed to lead a special Sunday School lesson or topic on Sunday morning. This study will be for prospects discovered through the Block Party.
4. VBS and Outreach Follow-up
June 21 Week
Volunteers are needed to conduct VBS and prospect follow-up. This will be a great family mission trip! Two teams are presently under consideration—one team to conduct VBS, one team to conduct the outreach follow-up.
5. Construction Teams
Team(s) will travel to Gentilly Baptist Church on an as needed basis to repair, construct, or renovate:
• Gentilly Church facility and Sunday School Rooms
• Homes of Gentilly members
• Neighborhoods homes
• Assemble furniture for preschool/children rooms
Estimated cost for mission trip to Gentilly: ~$100-$300
